As many changes as 2020 brought, perhaps one of the biggest was the shift in the amount of time that we all spent at home. With the increased amount of time spent at home in mind, the importance of pieces that were functional and versatile (and pretty) became necessary. An item that checks all of those particular boxes for us have screens.
Whether working from home or not, pieces that act as room dividers such as screens can be largely beneficial to many different types of spaces in a home. Our most utilized item was an upholstered screen from The Inside. We found ourselves moving the screen from outside (in warmer months to create ambiance as well as block sun) to our office to function as a divider or as a tool to brainstorm with clients and create mood or vision boards.
Additionally, the screen may or may not have been utilized to hide sample rolls, fabrics and other unsightly miscellaneous items when our office would become out of order. This was particularly true when we needed a quick fix to hide samples and add in a background in their place for the many Zoom meetings we’ve been a part of.
We love the screens from the Inside because like everything else they produce, the quality is on point and the have numerous options when it comes to fabric selection. Most importantly, they have created a place where custom pieces are easily accessible and at a friendly price point. We selected “White Cinque Terra” by Old World Weavers for our screen. Next on our list is a solid or a simple stripe like the “French Blue Clarence Stripe” for when we want a more muted backdrop for our schemes. A few of their fabric options are pictured below in various spaces posted by @theinside on Instagram.
The Inside is currently offering 20% off their screens with code “REDEFINESCREENTIME” so there is no better time to order what just might become your most used item in your home. Shop their screen, including the one pictured, below.
